Board and lodging, arrival and departure, registration
  • Board and lodging. 120 bed-spaces are available in halls of residence for students attending the Summer School. The total cost due for the entire period (arriving on August 31st and leaving on September 13th) will be EUR 221.00. Accommodation arrangements may change. Such changes will not affect the cost.
  • Once the 120 beds have been allocated, other students and non-students attending the Summer School will be accommodated in town hotels and B&Bs. The total cost due for the entire period (arriving on August 31st and leaving on September 13th) will be of EUR 555.00.
  • Students and non-students must provide their telephone number and/or e-mail address: they will be informed regarding acceptance.

 
  • Arrival and departure. "World Travel Jet" (via Alghero, 48 - 09127 Cagliari- Italia): Phone +39 070 6402456; Fax +39 070 650434; E-mail baba.danna@worldtraveljet.it) will provide information and the issue of tickets. There will be no service charge for those accommodated through the organization. The same service will cost EUR 35.00 for those who would prefer to arrange the accommodation by themselves.

        Cagliari can be easily reached by plane or boat. It is connected by daily flights to most of the principal cities of    

        mainland Italy and by several daily flights to Rome and Milan. During the summer months, connections are more    

        frequent, with both scheduled and charter flights to European capital cities. The Cagliari-Elmas airport is        

        about  8 km from Cagliari city centre; a bus service run by “ARST” provides transportation to and    

        from the  airport  every hour:

    The arrival point is the bus station which is located in Matteotti Square. This square looks out onto Rome Sreet (Via Roma), the main street of Cagliari. Buses to the majority of destinations pass through Via Roma. With regard to the conference venue, the number 5 bus takes you to Via Is Mirrionis, where the former seat of the Faculty of Foreign Languages and Literatures is to be found, and where the ALT conference will be held. At the corner of Rome Street and Largo Carlo Felice, you can catch the number 8 bus which sets you off at the new Faculty building after only two stops. This is where the Summer School will be held. Or you may care to walk up the hill to the Faculty, which will take you approximately a quarter of an hour.

    The Student Hall of Residence (la Casa dello Studente), situated in Via Trentino, may be reached on weekdays by the number 5 bus until 8 p.m. The bus stop is outside the old Faculty seat. After 8 p.m. and on holidays you may take the number 6 bus. Alternatively, you may take a taxi. Taxis leave from Matteotti Square (to your left coming out of the bus station). Taxis are reasonably priced in Caglairi (about €8 from Matteotti square to Via Is Mirrionis). However, it is advisable to take only official taxicabs (which can be reached at the following phone number: 070-400101).
